Actor Training

“There is no other company or training quite like FB&TV.  Part training – part theatre company – one side feeds the other” Clive Duncan.  Co-Director.  ALRA.

Full Body & the Voice delivers high quality actor training and aims to ensure that each student at every stage of development has an enjoyable and developmental experience.

Ensemble, voice, movement, imaginative and character skills are the fundamentals of our actor training and, alongside the vocational development, these skills also offer valuable transferrable benefits in increasing confidence, team playing ability and communication.

To enable consistency of delivery and accuracy of evaluation, the ACTOR©scheme provides a clear framework for the delivery of actor training, company-wide. Each individual practitioner brings their unique skills and methods into the rehearsal room while the ACTOR©scheme provides a syllabus base to support learning experience.

We take actor training seriously at FB&TV, we want our actors to be prepared to work not only in our own rehearsal room but in the wider industry, in film and TV,  and students are prepared for auditions and tutored in presentation skills.

Acting students also have the opportunity to develop through performance in the company's own theatre productions.

A recent acting student outlines a typical training day:

"We come to work in our blacks, these are black track suit bottoms and a black T-shirt.   We've had some great masterclasses from people like FRANTIC ASSEMBLY and SHARED EXPERIENCE and we get assessed all the time with the ACTORscheme.  It works for me because I really want to do the work of an actor...I know its not about being famous its about really loving the work...And I do".

“It is a standard of excellence that is needed in the learning disabled community.  It is important that our able young adults learn that they can reach heights previously denied to them.  It promotes such a positive view of disability to the public.  There is no ‘ceiling’ on ability and life chances with courses like this and it levels a somewhat uneven playing field in the world of acting.”   Acting students' family member

"This is an invaluable kind of training which has had a profound and lasting impact in his life in general that will stay with him for rest of his life regardless of what happens in the future"   Acting students' family member

FB&TV is currently developing future vocational actor training plans and will update shortly via this website.
